This gracious home was designed by local architect C. Emlen Urban and built by B. Frank Hiestand, a Marietta lumber mill baron.
The first floor features a rare American Chestnut foyer and staircase. Two parlors with pocket doors and fireplaces are great places to unwind with a good book or play board games.
In the formal dining room, the mahogany wainscoting and coffered ceiling are magnificent. A full breakfast will be served daily in this cheerful room.
Five guest rooms, all with private baths and four with whirlpool tubs, are located on the second floor. There is a separate cottage with gas fireplace and bathroom with spa shower and jetted two-person bathtub. All rooms include air conditioning and are limited to two persons per the fire code.
The B.F. Hiestand House is a non-smoking inn. Dogs are permitted in some rooms.
