Built in 1924, this stone manse has a rich heritage. The mansion, originally owned by William Klein, Jr, of Klein Chocolate Company, was then purchased by the Abel family in 1986. It housed a total of 15 children, most adopted from around the world in what was a sort of United Nations under one roof. The home has savored memories expressed in antiques, art and models. Many enjoyable amenities include a 19 seat movie theatre in the theme of the Titanic, a one of a kind museum with trains, planes, and automobiles, Diorama displays and more!
This home consists of 7 bedroom ensuites, a Conservatory, large Gathering Room, both formal living and dining rooms and several fireplaces. Each bedroom is uniquely different with its own personality. The Klein Mansion King and Queen Master Suites are adjoining, yet separate but do share a ginormous bathroom with tub, shower, dual sinks and a private water closet. The original Master Suite is The Burgundy Truffle Suite and boasts a king bed, airy bathroom with views to die for. The lovely Mocha Latte Loft, with its vaulted ceilings and rich chocolate furniture enjoy a small fireplace is simply tantalizing! The ambiance and views are simply amazing! If you haven’t noticed yet, every room has a flavor that resembles the “chocolate” roots of this inspired home. Take a peek into the Romantic Round Turret that has a custom round bed, claw foot white tub and a shower! Enticing! Other rooms to investigate are The Retro Gum Drop Studio, and The White Chocolate Bliss Bungalow. Every room has a specially designed bathroom with incredible touches and appointments.
The robust Abel family moved out so you could enjoy the many custom features both inside and out, including a teardrop jacuzzi, granite corn hole, playground, fire pit, a Koi pond and fountains all meshed with gorgeous foliage and landscape. The original house even supports a Billiard Room! The Conservatory can be reserved for special gatherings such as rehearsal dinners, showers and catered events.
The Klein Mansion Bed & Breakfast sits on the front of a 280 acre property which displays many restored and historic structures including sites where Abraham Lincolns’ Funeral Train and even the Liberty Bell passed through. This very private and historic property is centrally located to Harrisburg, the Capital of Pennsylvania. To Hershey with its restaurants, theme park, concerts and Chocolate history. Then there is nearby Lancaster where Amish villages, shopping and choice restaurants abound. Choose this quiet “Burb” for your getaway, retreat or celebrations.
