Christmas at Cornwall – Saturday, December 7, 2024 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Friends of Cornwall Iron Furnace will host “Christmas at Cornwall” on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at historic Cornwall Iron Furnace.

The annual, family-friendly event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the historic site, at 94 Rexmont Road.

Admission includes guided tours of the furnace, seasonal refreshments, and a model train displayed by Brian’s Model Trains under the furnace’s large, decorated tree. The museum store will be open for holiday shopping, and family crafts and visits from Santa will be offered in the 1860s paymaster’s building.

Local historians will be providing walking tours of Burd Coleman village this year. Lebanon Craft Brewery is returning to offer free tastings and will have their products and merchandise for sale in the blacksmith shop, converted into “Coleman’s Tavern” for the day.

Cornwall Manor once again will partner with the Friends to provide access to their restored buildings, including tours of the public areas of the 19-room Buckingham Mansion. They will host “Cookies, Crafts, Carols, and More” at the Freeman Hall. During the event, there will be Chapel Choir carolers, homemade cookie sales, and handcrafted items made by the Manor woodworkers. Visitors may purchase a light lunch in the Manor Café between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The model railroad display of the Cornwall area, complete with scale models of the major buildings, will be located in the former Mule Barn.

Tickets will be sold on the day of the event at the Cornwall Iron Furnace Visitor Center. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for youth (ages 3-17); children ages 2 and under are free. The walking tour will cost an additional $5 per person.
