Amish At Home Meals - Hosted By Samuel and Ruth Lapp at their Paradise, PA Farm.
The Lapp farm At Home Meal is a far different experience from restaurant PA Dutch smorgasbords. Ruth and Samuel hosts groups from 15 to 45 for lunch or dinner as well as for reunions, parties and meetings. You may call Ruth to see if your smaller party may join a larger group dining at the farm.
The Lapp's first-floor dining room has a handicap accessible restroom and the facility has a no-step, entrance. The large space accommodates two long tables that seat 45 people family style and is served from an adjacent kitchen.
The Lapp menu includes hearty and simple Amish favorites. Her meal is planned from family recipes that have been passed from mother to daughter and most are contained in a small From Our Farm recipe book available to purchase.
With the help of grown daughters, Ruth serves her guests the ultimate comfort food. Her dinner includes a chicken dish (either baked or chicken pot pie), roast beef with gravy accompanied by potatoes or noodles and a vegetable.
Ruth also serves salad, homemade bread, and some strawberry preserves made from the farm's spring harvest. Beverages include iced tea or, in season, Ruth's special strawberry-rhubarb punch. Coffee and dessert to top things off.
By reservation only! To check availability call (610) 593-1206 (press #0 when prompted) to leave a message. Ruth will return your call to discuss availability, reservations and dinner options. ** Closed on Tuesdays **
